'ADAMINTE MAKAN ABU MINDBLOWING FILM'

 ADAMINTE MAKAN ABU PURE CLASS!

Debut director Salim Ahmed's National Award Winner film 'Adaminte Makan Abu' gives a fantastic experience.!Its a pleasant view to watch a perfect living film after a long period..

The film simply talks about the life of Abu whose character has done by Salim Kumar..Abu is a very honest & innocent person..He lives with his wife which is characterised by Sareena Wahab..They live without making any harm to others..Loneliness in old age is discussed in the film where their son has not showing any relation to them..But,Abu has no complaint to anyone..Their desire to go for Hajj & the incidents happening after it makes the film worth watchful..Climax is brilliant.!

Chromatography & camera are awesome in this film..Background music,songs,costumes all elements are exactly included in needed quantities...

All actors especially Bharath Salim Kumar has done a terrific job!..

I'm really happy to see this beautiful heart touching film.!its a visual treat.!!..

Hats off to you director!

Verdict: 9.9/10.

 

AUGUST 15: YET TO BE INVESTIGATED

Action thriller expert director Shaji Kailas surprised with his very lagging type new film “August 15”, which said to be a remake of  Sibi Malayil’s mega hit movie “August 1”.

The theme of the film is similar to movie “August 1” in which “One wants to kill & the other wants to save!” .Investigation about attack against Chief Minister is the undertone in which Mammootty acted as the Investigating officer Permal & Nedumudi Venu,C.M along with Lalu Alex,Thalai Vasal Vijay & Baiju Kurupp as  senior officers . Meghana Raj,Swetha Menon,Jagathy Sreekumar played a helping role for Perumal.Madhu,Balachandran Chullikkad are co-actors & Sidhique did the role of killer.

The lack of powerful & impactful script is very much reflected in the film. Director made not much more attempts to add thrilling moments. Disappointing first half & below average second half makes the film boring. Suspense couldn’t make much impact in the film. Even mannerisms & style given to Mammootty & Sidhique were ok; it was not enough to make a punch in the film. There are no elements in the film to entertain. BGM is just OK,but not up to thrilling mark . It’s very difficult to enjoy for any sort of audience. Technical works & camera works which were shined in Shaji Kailas’s previous hit films couldn’t find space in this film. In fact, he might have tried to change his directing style, but couldn’t make it success.

Overall, the film is utter disappointing one even I went without any expectations.

My rating:2.2/10.

MARYKKONDORU KUNJAD-GOOD COMEDY ENTERTAINER

Director Shafi hits a complete entertainer through "MARYKKONDORU KUNJAD".The film is really enjoyable & one can enjoy the film through out.Like Shafi's other hits, "KUNJAD" becomes a laughing stock.This film is an exact crowd puller of 2011.

Popular star Dileep comes in the role of Kunjad where his original name is Solomon. He is a lazy man who is wishing to become a skilled director.He falls love with Mary(Bhavana), the daughter of Ittichan(Innocent).The behavior of Solomon intend others to have play on him especially Mary's brothers.

The arrival of Biju Menon who is introduced as Solomon's elder brother make the film more interesting. Soon many incidents makes the situation of Solomon worse & he loses his place even in his house.The mystery created around Biju Menon was terrific.The background music suits more to it.The revelation of purpose of Biju's visit makes the script more impactful.

The comedy sequences of Dileep was really a treat for audience.Vijayaraghavan,Jagathy Sreekumar,Vinayaprasad,Salim Kumar etc are other co-actors.The solid character of Biju Menon was brilliantly executed by him!.

The music was done by Berny Ignatius & three songs are not bad.


The storyline of the film is similar to "CHANDUPOTTU" & "MEESHAMADAVAN".That's the most identified negative.But, these all can be forgot if you like enjoyment & refreshment.If you want relax, then  go & watch this film.You will enjoy it.!

Actually, my disappointment  over "MAKE UP MAN" is removed by this film.I'm satisfied with the film.

My verdict:7/10.

KADHA-THUDARUNUU CAPTURES FAMILY AUDIENCE......

Sathyan Anthikad is back to action in 2010 through his 50th film "KADHA THUDARUNNU" .As his usual films,this film has also created a good rhythm throughout the movie.The film is remarkable with the content in it along with his familiar victorious chemical ingredients.The film contains more heroine prominence where Mamtha Mohandas takes the role of Vijayalakshmi.
  
Shanvas Ahmed{Asif Ali} marries Vijayalakshmi against their family wishes.They have a cute little daughter{baby anikha}.Soon the tragedy happens with the accidental death of Shanavas.The life of Vijayalakshmi & her daughter become miserable.Their tragic life is shown well by the Director.

  
After some dramatic incidents,Vijayalakshmi meets Preman{Jayaram} who is an auto-driver.Gradually, he understands the bad condition of them & he helps them along with his colony-natives such as K.P.C Lalitha,Innocent,Lakshmipriya etc.With the help of Preman,Vijayalakshmi could complete her medicine studies even among the bad circumstances & amidst of fear whether her daughter being stealed by Shanavas's family.Vijayalakshmi goes gulf after getting the job opportunity.The climax , perhaps someone may feel irritate,but was a brilliant one.It was a just a clue to the future life of them where director picturised it very well.The sweet mood in the film is maintained from 1st scene to last one.
The challenging role was done almost brilliantly by Mamtha.

  Ilayaraja's music was pretty to hear as in Sathyan's usual films especially Hariharan's melody "Aro Padunnu Doore" was sweeter.

Overall,it is a very nice family movie with something to think.It captures family audience really.!



  Well done,Director.You didn't turn down our expectations.

SHIKAR-A GOOD HUNTING EXPERIENCE

M.Padmakumar made a good come back a disappointented film"PARUNTHU" through "SHIKAR".The film is just watchable.

The main role is characterized by Padmasree Bharath Left.Colonel Dr.Mohanlal.He has a strong character of lorry driver named "BALARAMAN".Balaraman is living with his one & only daughter which had done by Ananya. M.Lal's wife,Sneha was no more & her memories always hurting him.Balaraman is a mysterious role played by Mohanlal.The struggle for existence is indicated in the film.First half was not up to the mark & the comedies didn't turn up to real comedies even in the presence of Suraj & Jagathy.The fear of prey of being hunt or not is detected in the film.The 2nd half was terrific where flash back of Balaraman's life included.The impact made by the Tamil actor Samudrakkani who played the role of a Naxalite leader{Sakhavu Abdulla} was huge.The main highlight of the film is its cinematographer Manoj Pillai.The Cinematography was fantastic.The beautiful landscape & adventurous sequences in climax were brilliant!..The suspense is turned to be a high mileage one.

Music is done by M.Jayachandran.There are three songs in the film including the Telugu revolutionary song which captures one's great mood.One melody sang by K.J Yesudas is also nice song.

Co-actors are Lalu Alex,ThalaiVasal Vijay,Maithili,Lakshmi Gopalaswami,Kailesh etc.

On the whole,we can enjoy the visual treat in 2nd half & could better forget 1st half.

My rating:6.5/10.

MAKE UP MAN A DISAPPOINTED STUFF

Hit maker Shafi after a mega hit is back with new film"MAKE-UP MAN",which turned out to be only a below average one.

Padmasree Jayaram did the job of Balu.In a special circumstance,he had to work as the makeup man of his wife Soorya{actress Miss Anamika},done by Sheela in film.After that,they had to face many problems in their life.Miss understandings between them brought them upto the level of Divorce & they rejoined in the climax.1st half was a good one.But,2nd half is below average.As there were presence of Comedy Kings Jagathy,Suraj,Salim Kumar & Jayaram,the comedies were not at all impressive. Humour most of times became over.Kunchako Boban & Prithviraj were impressive in their guest roles.The film didn't come up the level of other Shafi hits.The last film of Shafi with Jayaram was "One Man Show" & this movie can't become even a shadow of that film.

Other actors are Sidhique,Babu Namboothiri,Shemmi Thilakan,Jagadheesh,Janardhanan..

The two songs are nice to hear.Music is done by Vidhyasagar.

The film may overcome the capital spend on it as there are many family audiences for the film.Overall,it failed to impress.

BEST ACTOR A VARIETY FILM

Debut Director Martin Prakkat's movie "BEST ACTOR" turned to be an impressive family entertainer..Director could introduce a new style for Malayalam film.Script is really good & the way the director is implemented it is also good.


The film is really a watchable one.The first half is family based atmosphere where Mammootty plays the role of Mohan,a U.P school teacher who has intense desire to become a well-known "ACTOR".His family consists of his wife Savitri{Done by Sruthi},a music teacher & a son Unnikkuttan{Role done by Master Vivas}.The film's whole mood is changed with the end of 1st half where Mohan goes to Kochi to get a chance in film.The 2nd half is filled with commercial elements.Director could utilize Mammootty's both acting & style.The companions which Mohan got from Kochi were Nedumudi Venu,Lal,Salim Kumar & Vinayakan who all were local thugs.The incidents from then make the film more interesting.

Mammootty's stardom is increased through this film as he performed good in this film.The sentimental scenes worked out well in the film.The expressions of Mammootty was very good & other co-actors also did their job well.All though,comedies were not up to the mark,the film is really worth watchable.Music is done by Bijipal.The background music & the song "Swapnam oru Chak" is appreciable.
The 'dual climax' is the most important highlight of the film & this made film more impressive.

Overall,its a X'Mas treat for Malayalees & happy to see changing face of Malayalam film through these debutant directors.

Verdict:7/10.

PRANCHIYETTAN & THE SAINT;SIMPLICITY IS PERFECTION......

Director Ranjith strikes again through his new film"PRANCHIYETTAN & THE SAINT"after the great success of "PALERIMANIKYAM",which had also done with Padmasree Bharath Dr.Adv.Mammootty.

The film is really an impressive one.The film is marked with good humour & sentiments.The film is remarkable through the great work done by each persons worked behind it.Director Ranjith did a terrific job in his direction.We can enjoy each & every moment of the film.

The actors & actresses all acted very well especially Mammootty.He was living as "Pranchiyettan".The film is so natural & we feel we were along with Pranchi & The Saint.Director established a good communication between Pranchi & The Saint{the role is done by an English man}.

The film goes with communication between Chiremmel Enashu Francis{ARIPRANCHI}& The Saint Francis.Pranchi reveals his life through his THRISSUR slang.Ranjith drawn a good picture of a Thrissur natives.The Thrissur slang was a highlight of the film.

Pranchi along with the help of his friend Vasu Menon{Innocent}tries to get a good status in society.For this,they are doing many interesting things.Innocent along with Mammootty,shined with terriffic facial expressions.The effect of failure of education in the society highlights in the film.Even Pranchi is rich,he has not good value in the society as he is not educated.The film simply also simply speaks about the corruptions in the society.

Tini Tom did the job of Pranchi's car driver & he did his job well.The other Co-actors are Khusbhoo,Siddique,Sivaji Guruvayoor,Jagathy Sreekumar,Priyamani,Biju Menon,Idavela BabuMaster Ganapathi etc where Ganapathi's role was a very good one.

There is only a song in the film which makes our mood well.Music is done by Ouseppachan.

The film starts & ends with pleasure.There is a hope in climax.That's life.The film simply tells the simple story of a simple man "Pranchi".This is a must watch film & its one of the beautiful films in Malayalam film history.

Hats off to Ranjith.!
